Princes Trust Team Programmes

The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12 week personal development programme designed to build the confidence, motivation, qualifications and skills of young people aged 16-18 through team work in the community.
The Team programme has been running nationally since 1990 and to date over 60,000 young people have taken part. Over 300 training and education providers deliver the programme nationally across the UK.
Each programme has a team of volunteers made up of up to 16 young people from a variety of backgrounds. Volunteers join the programme for a variety of reasons for example long term unemployed individuals join to develop the motivation, skills and confidence needed to secure employment. Others join simply to do some valuable volunteer work and to enhance their c.v. The qualifications gained can for many be the first positive educational experience and can be the catalyst to encourage accessing further education.
The programme involves an induction week, a residential week of outdoor activities and team building events, a community project, fundraising activities, work placement and a final team challenge. Each volunteer works towards a level 1 City and Guilds qualification, wider key skills, first aid and food hygiene certificates. These experiences greatly enhance the future prospects for the individual to gain employment.
